Invader Zim reruns return to Nicktoons!!!
Read our source and get yourself psyched before you read what we have to say about it.
OK… you back? Here’s why we are excited.
UP UNTIL NOW…..
Invader Zim has not aired on United States airwaves since around April, 2013 (source)
Around that time it was selected alongside eight other shows to be taken off their schedule.
Funny thing is that before the change occurred, Nicktoons was set to put Zim on the Saturday morning block,
and before that brief time on the Saturday morning block… Zim was enjoying a large amount of air time on weekdays for the first time in practically forever….. the sheer timing of such leaves us to strongly assume to this very day that our huge fan mailing event “Project: Massive” may have been a strong factor in Zim being aired on more favorable timeslots.
After all, Nicktoons network always loved Zim (Christmas Eve marathon, season 2 premiere, pilot premiere featuring unreleased Richard Horvitz audio, GIRreatest Moments poll event… and that’s just what is on the record).
More importantly, even before Project Massive Nicktoons always left Zim a little bit of room during the gravyard slot on weekends… which is honestly generous for a decade old unfinished cartoon.
We are not sure why this change occurred but we’re certainly psyched and will ride the wave.
Be sure to watch Invader Zim on Nicktoons network this Sunday afternoon. Check your local cable providers and TV listings for details.
No, your viewing does not affect ratings unless your household is selected for a Nielsen Ratings Box… however your cable provider might still be providing data so who are we to tell you that watching won’t affect it? Go watch anyways.
and download episodes on iTunes. and watch episodes on Amazon Prime. and… and…. go nuts!
Although I’m bogged down with my volunteer job at my local haunted house and also at my real job training for a department transfer… I’m working towards some new projects both productive and fun for the fans to get behind. I appreciate your support and patience.
follow this blog for updates on all things Invader Zim including those aforementioned events, projects, and even a new website or two perhaps ;) (shhh)
Invader Zim rerun coming soon!
Good news, everyone. Nicktoons will air an hour of Invader Zim on Tuesday night. They are doing this as a part of their plans for the Halloween season. [Source: LocateTV]
I wasn’t sure if LocateTV was a reputable enough source so I did check my own local listings now that schedules for October 15th are available. It’s true!
Here’s why we’re pleased: Invader Zim hasn’t aired on United States television since April.
Before Project Massive and Invadercon II took place we noticed that Invader Zim was mostly on graveyard slots weekday nights and also afternoons for Sunday. That’s not bad for a decade old cancelled program.
AFTER Project Massive it went to weekday breakfast hours and weekday afternoon hours. Then Zim was moved to weekend mornings instead of weekday anything. Quality over quantity for sure. All good things and a sign that we had found success in our efforts.
Then everything changed when a whole bunch of shows were taken off regular rotation. It doesn’t seem to reflect badly on Zim or its ratings per se but it certainly was alarming and it meant we had to cancel a big mission involving bringing back the old “watch Invader Zim on ____ network” tags from Hot Topic.
Now you can verify all of our claims about Zim’s schedule history by exploring this reputable fansite NickandMore.com ‘s archives.
We do not know what Nicktoons plans to do with the show in their schedule afterwards but we are hoping the ratings will be enough to justify it returning to weekend mornings.
Take care, everybody.

INVADER ZIM LEGO SET proposal on Cuusoo
It got the attention of the voices of Zim & Gir. ;)
Click the first link below. Read the proposal, click the green button, and answer some brief questions. Reblog this. Then tell your Zim loving friends.
You can also go the extra mile and spread the word to any relevant forums or sites that would be willing to hear about it.
If ten thousand do it then the Lego company itself will read it and considerate it.
No money required. They’ll ask a hypothetical question or two about how much money you might spend if Lego approved the project and how many related products would you buy.
It’s not a generic petition that gets nowhere fast. This website— Cuusoo— is responsible for getting the Back to the Future and Minecraft lego sets greenlit. It is an opportunity for Lego to find out what the fans would like to see.
We’re not experts on this nor do we want to bore you with a wall of text. So if you have questions about how Cuusoo works then check out this blog we found this morning
"Okay, what does this have to do with bringing Zim back?"
Everything. We sent letters and we got Nickelodeon’s attention but frankly ever since Jhonen Vasquez announced a possible Johnny the Homicidal Maniac movie we were excited!!…..but concerned that he won’t have time for Zim for a year or two. So what then? Well we can’t let Nickelodeon forget about us.
We’ve supported quite a few Zim related projects, websites, events, merchandise and more. Why? Lots of reasons.
1) You get the stuff you want and you oftentimes have the power to help make it happen.
2) Every connection we gain or accomplishment made it easier for us to be taken seriously.
3) REVIVING SHOWS IS A NUMBERS GAME. POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. POTENTIAL AUDIENCES. POTENTIAL PROFIT.
We could list off the different examples of sites, events, projects, and merchandise makers another time. Point is: there’s purpose to this.
A fair warning however. Ten thousand supporters does not guarantee anything. Cuusoo is where ten thousand Legend of Zelda fans shown support but the greenlight went to the Back to the Future set that got ten thousand supporters, too.
We think getting ten thousand is a victory enough. Never let Nickelodeon forget even when Jhonen is busy.
If we get enough by September then Lego will look at the proposal this year. If not we’d have to wait a bit longer.
Lastly, this was not our idea. The nice couple who came up with it just became our new friends and we will do all we can to help make it happen.
PS- If you have questions please remember that this site serves as our blog rather than our email. If you inbox us questions, we recommend you not do it anonymously in case we decide to answer it privately and discretely. We answer anonymous questions if they can springboard into a wider fleshed out discussion. ;)
Invader Zim Convention Needs Your Help! (An Official Press Release)
FANS TURN TO KICKSTARTER TO HELP CREATE ANOTHER INVADER ZIM THEMED CONVENTION.
Funding reached 60% in less than ten days, but it still needs help to succeed over the next two weeks!
(ORLANDO, May 17, 2013) InvaderCON, the unofficial Invader ZIM fan convention, is attempting to create a third event planned to take place somewhere in the middle United States in 2014 through the use of crowd funding. The event, being built via the popular Kickstarter website, was conceived as an opportunity for fans of the popular Invader ZIM cartoon to meet members of the show’s cast and crew, but were unable to do show when the convention was hosted on the East Coast in 2011 and the West Coast 2012.
The project’s funding goal of $33,333 was agreed upon by the convention’s promoters, Green Mustard Entertainment, based on the basic operational costs of the first two InvaderCON events: space rental, flights, hotel stays, insurance, etc. From the InvaderCON III Kickstarter page:
“The biggest problem, though, was time and resources vs. risk. While Green Mustard Entertainment is a company, it’s NOT the “primary job” of any of the owners or staff. It’s a creative fan convention company that designs events to support the geek community.
Ars gratia artis and whatnot.
InvaderCON, unlike our other projects (like Florida Anime Experience,) isn’t an annual show in a local city. Normal conventions build a fan base in a specific area and continue to grow. InvaderCON’s attendees (at both conventions) are only about 20% locals. Over 80% of InvaderCON attendees are from outside the convention’s host city. This makes predicting attendance and budgeting VERY tricky and EXTREMELY risky.”
Fans who contribute via Kickstarter, regardless of amount, will have a voice in selecting the host city for the convention (tentatively named “InvaderCON III: FINAL DOOM.”) Pledge levels include perks such as passes, t-shirts, items signed by voice actors, and more.
While the Kickstarter Project launched with amazing momentum, the fans and Green Mustard Entertainment are reaching out to various online blogs and news sources to help get the word out to make this project a success.

NEW EPISODE CHRISTMAS DAY.
Every Zim fan needs to know this.
An official EPISODE that only made it to cast recording sessions is being animated painstakingly by some talented fans. 7 AM EASTERN Christmas morning they will show what they got done so far at SoapyWaffles.com
I’ve seen it at Invadercon II and let me tell you… This was a huge highlight for everyone.
Reblog and spread through every social network page you have.
An update for many, a recap for some
We raised $1,127 for Toys of Hope charity at Invadercon. Instead of having fans send a themed item with their letter like other television revival/save the show campaigns, Invadercon attendees got to send personalized envelopes with vouchers. This works great since we have an insider within Nickelodeon (Katelyn Balach) interested in collecting and forwarding letters on our behalf so we don’t need attention grabbing gimmicks. Instead we have evidence fans will spend money.
Jason Stiff (post production supervisor), Rikki Simons (voice of Gir) and Richard Horvitz (voice of Zim) retweeted the address for us.
Rikki and Richard mentioned Project massive, OHP, and Soapy Waffles at Dragoncon.
Jhonen posted the LA Weekly article about Invadercon that highlighted OHP and Soapy Waffles’ presence.
Invadercon III could happen if Wasabi Anime reachers 10K Facebook or Twitter followers
Nicktoons revised their schedule. Zim went from Sunday afternoons and late hours on week nights to airing four times daily afternoons and mornings. The Nicktoons company (separate from Nickelodeon) would love to have new Zim so it’s great they can be a bit more flexible with air times for a decade old cancelled show.
SoapyWaffles.com will let out a Mopiness of Doom preview on Christmas Day.
Our own CB Johnny is launching a Zim news site (TheIrkenAntennae.com comin soon!).
A reliable source reports there’s talk of ——-*this message is interrupted by a screaming newborn llama*——- in order to
——-*further llama interruptions*
That was….Strictly off the record but we wanted you to know we are getting positive and interesting feedback. ‘Sides. Our source is treating it as rumor/scuttlebutt so we will as well.
We’re awaiting more concrete things to report. Stay tuned!
Are You Aware Of: Soapy Waffes (?!)
For those here to bring Zim back through Project Massive (details in next post) you owe it to yourself to check out those giving a taste of what to expect. There was a sneak preview at Invadercon II: Doomcon met with thunderous applause.
